On September 16, 2025, RCLF proudly participated in the inaugural Alabama Microenterprise Network (AMN) CDFI Gathering, held Montgomery, Alabama. This groundbreaking convening marked the launch of the AMN CDFI Initiative, a statewide effort to strengthen the ecosystem of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) that serve as lifelines for small businesses and underserved communities across Alabama.
Representing RCLF, Chuck Wall, Chief Financial Officer, served as a panelist alongside fellow CDFI leaders to discuss strategies for expanding capital access, building partnerships, and ensuring long-term sustainability within the industry. John-Michael Marlin, Director of Lending, also attended, reinforcing RCLF’s growing footprint in Alabama and its commitment to advancing equitable economic opportunities throughout the region.
The event brought together over 20 Alabama-based CDFIs, community leaders, policymakers, and financial partners—all united under one mission: to strengthen local economies by increasing access to affordable credit, capital, and financial services for micro and small businesses, particularly those in rural and economically underserved areas. The AMN Forum portion of the event further explored emerging trends, available resources, and innovative approaches shaping the microbusiness landscape.
For RCLF, participation in this historic event was more than symbolic—it was strategic. As the organization continues to expand its presence across Alabama, this collaboration underscores RCLF’s mission of empowering people and building communities through inclusive financial solutions. Chuck Wall shared insights on RCLF’s best practices in community lending, program design, and sustainable growth—highlighting how collaboration among CDFIs fuels innovation and impact.
Through active engagement in initiatives like the AMN CDFI Gathering, RCLF continues to champion its core goals: expanding access to homeownership, small business growth, and financial stability—empowering individuals and strengthening the economic heartbeat of the communities it serves across Mississippi and Alabama.
