Get Laced Hair Boutique- Gulfport, MS
As someone who frequented beauty supply stores and tried many different types of wigs, Kayla Lee was frustrated with the lack of accessible “natural-looking” wigs for women. She knew there was a market for blend-able, lace front wigs in natural styles and colors that was not being reached. After the birth of her daughter in 2019, she was motivated to start her own business that focused on supplying a product so women could feel comfortable and confident, but with the flexibility to work from home and spend time with her daughter.
Running a new business on her own, Kayla often felt overwhelmed and defeated. “When I started, I didn’t know anything about running a business. I wasn’t even making a profit. It was tiring, but I didn’t want to give up,” said Kayla. Inspiration came with one of Kayla’s first customers, an alopecia patient. Once Kayla’s client received the wig, she was so ecstatic that she sent Kayla a video of herself trying on and styling the wig and stated that Kayla now had a “customer for life.” “I just want to help women feel beautiful and confident. Once I heard my client say that she would be a customer for life, I knew I was doing the right thing,” said Kayla.
Now that Kayla has been in business for almost three years, she has helped women all over the globe. From local breast cancer and alopecia patients in the South, to customers in London and New York, Kayla is committed to putting her customers first and helping them feel beautiful and confident. Kayla currently runs her business by herself in Gulfport, Mississippi and has 40+ regular clients, but her dream is to one day have global operations.
Kayla’s next step in growing her business involves hosting multiple pop-up events locally and around the US where she can do consultations, let clients shop in person, and do wig installations and tutorials. If you plan on visiting New York soon, you can find Get Laced Hair Boutique’s billboard in Times Square beginning in August!
